Master of Yester years
Learning in Carnatic music takes place at two levels. One is learning the songs as imparted by the teacher, and the other is listening to the music of the great masters. The latter experience gives one an insight into how songs learned in class are taken to the next level, for concert presentation.

Homage to Thyagaraja
On January 15th 2009, “Bagula Panchami” by the Hindu Lunar Calendar, Carnatic Musicians will be observing the 162nd annual homage to Saint Thyagaraja, in his birthplace of Thiruvvaiyaru in Tamil Nadu.
